Heating oil is often considered an outdated technology. ECFD’s mission is to correct this misconception and point to the efficiency of modern heating oil systems and the important contribution of heating oil to Europe’s heating mix, as well as the social dimension of heating policy.
ECFD represents the interests of heating oil and fuel distributors throughout Europe. Since 2012, ECFD also has also represented the owners of independent petrol stations. Its goal at the EU level is to engage with policy-makers, provide input to stakeholders relevant for the sector policies, and raise the industry’s profile.
Cambre assists ECFD in defining its political and policy priorities and in drafting communication materials, including an EU newsletter for distribution to members. Cambre gathers intelligence on EU transport, energy and environment discussions, and has helped ECFD, implement a successful public affairs campaign consumer rights, one of its priority areas.
Since its cooperation with Cambre, ECFD has been actively and effectively involved in the EU decision-making process, defending the interests of its members on relevant policy initiatives.. It is also recognised as a member of an advisory stakeholder group to the European Commission dealing with excise duties.
